El Paso, TX On Shortlist for MLS Expansion

EL PASO- MLS may be coming to El Paso, Texas by the start of the 2020 season. Commissioner Don Garber met with Mayor Leeser in Texas today to view plans for the new stadium. The El Paso Conquistadors currently play at Pleasantview High School outside of the city however, plan to have a soccer-specific 80,000 seat stadium built by 2019.

Commissioner Garber seemed elated at the progress and sincerity of the entire El Paso committee. "The stadium is going to replace the old Rodeo grounds overlooking the beautiful city of Jaurez, Mexico." Garber stated on Monday. "Very few MLS stadiums have that type of incredible backdrop." he added.

View or not, the buzz in El Paso is real. Mayor Leeser expects their 2020 expansion bid to be accepted by the end of the year.

Added Note: The team has already claimed MLS Discovery Rights on every citizen in Jaurez, Mexico.
